Ju-Jutsu is one of the oldest and most comprehensive forms of martial arts
to be known. Used original by the Samurai for combat, the training included armed as
well as unarmed fighting methods. Later on when training for real combat wasn't the
main criteria anymore, other slightly more civilized martial arts such as Judo, Karate
or Aikido were developed from it. Today, most forms of Ju-Jitsu can be divided into
two groups: Koryu - meaning old or traditional and Gendai Ryu - meaning new or modern.
Both groups offer a fantastic self-defence training but differentiate in the fact that
the older forms still teach the handling of traditional weapons, whilst many of the
modern forms are primarily focused on competitive options.
Goshin Ryu Ju-Jutsu is a form of mixed martial art, which uses old as well as new principles.
The style taught at the Martial Art School - Nottingham incorporates e.g. techniques from martial
arts such as Ninjutsu, Boxing, Judo, Karate, Aikido, Escrima and others, providing so an excellent
mixture of realistic self-defence and physical fitness
During your training, you will be shown how to roll, punch, kick and throw correctly as
well as how to apply pressure points, wrist locks, arm bars and other techniques, in order
to defend yourself, whilst being attacked either in an upright position, down on the ground
or any other possible situations - e.g. in a car, tram, etc.
Training is held: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6.30pm till 7.45pm
